About Retail Skills

Successful outlets provide the right products at the right price, in the right location, attractively presented with good customer service & product knowledge. Staff need a diverse range of skills that cover administration, product storage, stock preparation, security, health & safety, merchandising and customer service, all of which are covered in our Apprenticeship programme.

On completion of the programme participants will be able to:
  • Organise the receipt & storage of goods and audit stock levels
  • Source required goods, display & provide specialist support to customers
  • Accurately process payments by cash, credit or Hire Purchase
  • Develop effective customer service skills including problem solving
  • Gain specific retail sector knowledge where appropriate.
    (e.g. food handling, I.T. or other technical information )
